About me

About me

I am a 17-year-old student at Dhirubhai Ambani International School, Mumbai. Since I was a child, nature held a very special place in my heart. Whether it was home gardening with my mother or enjoying wildlife family holidays, the natural world always mesmerized me. Science became my other passion, as I tinkered with the wires of my Snap Circuit, which I got a gift on my 12th birthday.

The passion for environment and technology possibly took root there

Today, as a passionate environment technophile, I have worked on several sustainable projects to understand or help resolve environmental challenges through technology. I firmly believe that educating, building awareness, and implementing solutions with the use of technology can help in resolving climate related existential issues faced by our world today.

My love for language, literature, and culture has led me to pursue Indian classical dance, Piano, Journalism and Creative Writing for several years now.

During my internship with SELCO, the experience of meeting farmers during my field visits has been enlightening in understanding the key role that low cost sustainable technology can play in transforming lives and livelihood.

Similarly, my interactions with NGOs operating in Dharavi, Mumbai, coupled with conversations with the residents, have deepened my understanding of water inequity. I have tried to utilise these learnings for my “Mumbai Water Project”, which was the genesis of a series of podcasts I hosted and presentations I made to a number of Housing Societies in Mumbai.

Understanding our world and people through the lens of environmental sustainability, and exploring our art and culture, are issues very close to my heart.

My Passion

Today we are faced with complex environmental challenges.

To supplement my theoretical understanding I have worked on a number of sustainable projects – in the form of research, innovation and community outreach.

“Technology and environmental awareness is the only way to a sustainable future.”

Whether it is working on a renewable energy project, creating water conservation awareness through gamifying education or developing an app to track carbon footprint, I am committed to making a difference to our Earth, one step at a time. Because this Earth is all that we have!
